We never had the chance to shutdown Tweetbot but I probably would've made the same choice in Apollo's situation. For all of Twitter's 1.0 fault they weren't ever actively trying to kill us off. Sometimes they discouraged us, sometimes they encouraged, sometimes they ignore us.

Reddit is actively trying to get rid of 3rd party clients. No other way to view what's going on. You might be able to continue to plod along, but who the hell would want to?

So what happens next? Lots of meetings/emails. At some point the subs have to be shut off, both new ones and renewals. The money you were making goes down towards $0 and people who purchased/subbed over the last few days will reach out for Apple for refunds. So you get a couple of weeks of negative revenue.

At some point after that Apple will issue refunds for any active subscriptions, probably all at once and you get a single day where you make negative 6 figures. This all, of course, sucks.

Pro tip: Always add a remotely controller “oh crap” screen to your apps.
